From a Garden Tour
Hello Friends,
These shots are from a garden tour a few months ago. At the top is a fuchsia, and below a white delphinium, both fairly common in our neighborhood. They were shot with a Panasonic Lumix GX7 with 3D lens, using frame sides for phantogram processing.
Today has been a break from over and over hot and sometimes humid days over the past month, but apparently a short break, it's supposed to get hot again next week. I doubt that many reading this will feel much sympathy for those of us momentarily suffering rough weather in southern California. I can hear your "oh boo hoos" echoing back.
Condolences to our poor president DJT for once again being overlooked for the Nobel Peace Prize he so richly believes he deserves. It's really too bad that the Nobel committee doesn't hand out participation trophies. How could they possibly have overlooked once again all the great things Trump has done for our country and the world?
A couple of things of note this past week: 1) for the first time ever the US won't allow international election monitors for the midterm elections, joining Russia and Belarus in such denials; 2) Trump claiming we're purchasing 300,000 tons of Russian diesel fuel to ease our energy shortage, and effectively fund Russia's war against Ukraine; and 3) a live-streamed firing squad execution coming up on December 3. Life in the USA just keeps getting weirder.
Add a date to your calendar, one week from today the No Kings day of protest on October 17. It shouldn't be too hard to find one near you. Treat yourself to one or a few hours of hanging out with friends and neighbors, protesting what Trump's America has become.
Wishing for better,
Barry Rothstein
