Suspended Rope Bridge in Hawaii
Hello Friends,
This is a shot of Betsy several years ago on a suspended rope bridge over a canyon in Hawaii. I don't recall the exact location but I believe it was on Kauai or Maui. We've not been to Hawaii since well before Covid hit, so feeling we're overdue for a trip there. It was shot with a Fuji W3 and auto-aligned in StereoPhoto Maker.
Last Saturday I woke up to a cold rainy morning in Solvang, California, a cute, sleepy tourist town made to look like and celebrate Danish culture. I worked on and sent out my image-of-the-week email of a Japanese anemone flower with a bee. After that I checked out the news online to discover that our United States military had invaded Venezuela, killed around 80 Venezuelan civilians and members of their security forces, and abducted their president and first lady to New York to stand trial on drug charges.
Woohoo! USA! USA! USA!
To distract us from how the Trump administration is ...
... destabilizing our healthcare system, making it far more expensive, effectively dropping coverage for millions of Americans,
... dismantling government's role in public health to prevent deadly diseases,
... paying masked goons to abduct productive and innocent immigrants and incarcerate them in concentrations camps,
... fostering corruption in our energy and mining industries,
... disrespecting our veterans,
... grabbing billions of dollars in personal gains
... disobeying a new law requiring full disclosure of the Epstein files,
Trump directed our military to attack Venezuela and has since announced that he would control Venezuela's natural resources, and he threatened similar military action against Iran, Cuba, Columbia, and Greenland.
It appears our new national policy is that the United States is to become the ultimate power over all other nations in this hemisphere, reminiscent of the USSR's domination of eastern Europe.
This week brought new horrors with the murder of a USA citizen and mother of 3, Renee Good by ICE agents as she tried to slowly drive away from them, and Trump and Noem's characterization of Good as a domestic terrorist who weaponized her car against ICE agents.
Wishing for better,
Barry Rothstein
I send out a weekly email of these. If you'd like to be included, please go to the contact page and send me an email.
