Prickly Pear
Hello Friends,
Just five weeks ago I used an image of prickly pear blossoms. In reviewing old photos I'd not put to use I found this one and like it enough to put it to use. It was shot at a friend's garden in Arizona with a Fuji W3 and converted into a phantogram in Photoshop.
Another week, more horror shows. Having grown up in a Jewish household and attended religious shooling, we were never allowed to forget the sadness and horror of what Germany's Nazi regime did to Jews and others. As a Jew I'm now horrified and ashamed at what Israel is doing in Gaza. It's something the Israeli government will never be able to live down. I only hope they'll recognize that continued destruction and starvation will not help achieve their need for security, but instead will increasingly turn the world against them.
Reports of bad conditions and bad treatment of immigrants in USA run concentration camps keep coming in. History tries to teach us lessons, but we refuse to learn them. Meanwhile the Trump administration looks to every possible path to diminish what our country stands for, while as taxpayers we and the people of Scotland are paying millions of dollars for him to visit his golf courses.
Regards,
Barry Rothstein
