Pumpkin Cheese Cake with Candied Pecans and Succulent Garnish

Hi All,

My apologies. Things are blossoming all around me, and here I am showing an amazing dessert from this past Thanksgiving. It might have something to do with my wife trying to go gluten free, but there it is. I promise a good nature macro shot next week.

This amazing cake was produced by my neighbor across the street, another Barry.

Tomorrow (Sunday, March 16) Shyam Kannapurakkaran and I will put exhibit, shoot and demonstrate how to make photographic phantograms on Family STEAM Day at the Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park in San Diego. This is a unique opportunity to get yourself and/or your kids 'phantogramed' live and for free. We could even use a little help. If you're down that day, come out say hi.

On March 28-29 Shyam and I will be doing much of the same at the Los Angeles County Science Fair.

April 12-13 I'll have a booth at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. Unlike the last few years I'll not be in the Children's area, but in more of a section for art books. Booth 968.

And on May 17-18 we'll be back at Maker Faire in San Mateo, the "greatest show and tell on earth".
