Franklin Londin is a two time Academy Award winning animator for his work on the effects teams of Titanic and Spiderman2. His passion is shooting stereo (3D) photography and sharing that passion with others. Franklin builds interactive stereo display sculptures. Through his work he wants to remind people of the amazing blessing of sight.
"Stereo photography has the unique and magical ability to show you not only a picture of an event that has passed, but to draw you into the space of that past. You are not simply remembering the event from a flat image of it, as in the average 2D photograph, you are reliving the depth of that moment by the active engagement of your eyes and your brain. To me, it's time traveling."
Franklin is currently working on his first stereo film with Sony Imageworks: "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs".
